In recognising the customers needs to support old and obsolete circuit breakers have developed a new retrofit for the Whipp & Bourne MM74 HSCB.

The retrofit consists of installing a GERAPID HDCB within the existing Whipp & Bourne chassis. The retrofitted breaker can then be fitted into the Whipp & Bourne Switchboard without the need to carry out any modifications, all existing interlocks and winding mechanisms remain the same. We can also supply the retrofit as a complete new unit.

AH/BH ACB

We have designed a Vacuum Retrofit (RET VAC-AH) for the 3.3kV A. H. and the 6.6kV B.H. (RET VAC-BH) Whipp & Bourne Air Circuit Breakers.

The retrofit consists of installing a Schneider HVX Circuit Breaker within the existing Whipp & Bourne carriage.

The main earthing and interlocking have been modified to work in conjunction with the new HVX Circuit Breaker. By carrying out the modification in this way it allows the customer to upgrade switchgear in a quick and efficient manner without the need to modify the existing switchboard busbars. In our opinion this method is far the most cost effective solution in upgrading the switchgear on site to guarantee future support and reliability for many years to come.

AK CONTACTOR

We have designed a Vacuum Retrofit (RET VAC-AK) for the 3.6kV A. K. Whipp & Bourne Motor Switching Device.

The retrofit consists of installing a Toshiba CV-6HAL Vacuum Contactor within the existing Whipp & Bourne carriage.

All main interlocks have been retained in the modification to prevent the retrofit being installed or removed from the switchboard whilst in the closed position. By carrying out the retrofit in this way it alleviates the necessity to modify the main switchboard busbars etc. This method, in our opinion is by far the most cost effective solution for upgrading the switchboard on site to guarantee future support and reliability for many years to come.

The retrofit consists of installing An ABB VSC12 Vacuum Contactor within the existing Whipp & Bourne carriage.

All main interlocks have been retained in the modification to prevent the retrofit being installed or removed from the switchboard whilst in the closed position. By carrying out the retrofit in this way it alleviates the necessity to modify the main switchboard busbars etc. This method, in our opinion is by far the most cost effective solution for upgrading the switchboard on site to guarantee future support and reliability for many years to come.
